Electrical & Computer Engineering

Hongyu Deng.

I am a master's student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lehigh University. I am studying AI agents, agent harnesses, and reinforcement learning, with a focus on how these systems are built and used.

Lehigh University Expected graduation: May 2027

01

Independent study

AI agents

Studying tool-calling loops and structured tool inputs and outputs, including how a model receives and uses tool results.

Agent harnesses

Exploring workflow orchestration, task state, and evidence tracking through a personal research harness and literature-retrieval examples.

Reinforcement learning

Studying reinforcement learning fundamentals and reward-driven sequential decision-making.

02

Projects

Four-bit absolute comparator

Designed and optimized a four-bit absolute comparator, from Boolean logic to circuit-level performance. Verified functionality in MATLAB and explored the trade-off between energy consumption and delay.
